Everything ETC runs is open to students at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and most of it is free. This is what we run, and what we have run.
Five formats.
Most of them have been the shape of ETC since 2018. The topics change with the technology; the formats have not needed to.
Workshops
Small, hands-on, and you leave with something. Recent ones covered Figma, Framer, n8n and getting started with AI tooling.
Panel discussions
Industry, government and academia arguing the same question in one room, which is usually where the interesting disagreements are.
In-house days
A visit to the office, with the people who work there. You see the environment and meet the team before you ever send an application.
Hackathons
Two days, a challenge set by a partner, and something working at the end of it. EurHackNL is the largest student AI hackathon in the Netherlands.
EurHackNL
The largest student AI hackathon in the Netherlands, run at Erasmus University Rotterdam. More than five hundred students took part, from Erasmus, UvA, Leiden, TU Delft, VU Amsterdam, TU Eindhoven, KU Leuven, Groningen, Twente, Tilburg, Wageningen, TU Munich, TU Berlin and others.
Rather than assuming everyone could already code, the event was built around AI-powered no-code tools, so students from technical and non-technical backgrounds could get a working prototype finished inside two days.

The evening panel on AI and the future of careers brought together Daniele Tonella, CTO of ING; David Knibbe, CEO of NN Group; Hiek van der Scheer, Chief Data Officer at ABN AMRO; Holger Hürtgen, AI leader at McKinsey; and Surajeet Ghosh, Chief AI Officer at Heineken. Masterclasses ran alongside from DEPT and Framer, and DEPT hosted a CV and portfolio review through the second day.
